🔒 Privacy
No accounts, no counting cookies, no selling of data. What is collected anyway is set out here – in full and without glossing over.
No counting cookies
The analytics store nothing on your device.
Statistics in Germany
Matomo runs on our own server, not at a service provider.
Truncated IP address
The last two blocks are dropped before anything is stored.
Never sold
Your data is not linked, traded or passed on.
All served from here
Fonts and libraries come from this domain, not from external servers.
🏛️ Controller
The entity named in the imprint is responsible for processing personal data on this website.
🗒️ Server logs
When you open a page, your browser transmits technically necessary information that the server logs briefly: the address requested, the time, the amount of data transferred, the browser identifier and the referring page. These logs serve operation and troubleshooting only, are not combined with other data and are deleted after seven days at the latest (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR).
📊 Analytics
To understand which content is actually needed, usage of this site is measured statistically using Matomo, running on PixAgentur's own server in Germany. For the measurement, no data is transferred to third parties, in particular not to Google and not outside the EU. Advertising is a separate matter – see the section further down.
- No cookies. Nothing is stored on your device to recognise you.
- Truncated IP address. The last two blocks of your IP address are discarded on the server before anything is stored, so 203.0.113.45 becomes 203.0.0.0.
- No merging. The statistics are not linked to other sources and not passed on.
Since neither cookies are set nor information read from your device, § 25 TDDDG does not apply and no consent is required. The legal basis is the legitimate interest in designing this website to meet actual demand (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR).
Measurement data technically passes through /api/pegel on this domain. That is not an additional recipient but the same server – the detour only prevents content blockers from discarding the count.
You can object to the statistical analysis at any time. The switch takes effect immediately and permanently for this browser; the measurement is then not even loaded.
Analytics are on Analytics are off
Your visits are counted anonymously. Flip the switch to opt out.
Nothing is measured in this browser. The objection is kept until you undo it here or clear the site data.
Saved. The change takes full effect on the next page load.
This browser does not allow local storage, so the switch cannot be saved. A content blocker or private mode helps instead.
💾 What your device stores
Some features remember small things in your browser's local storage – the light or dark mode, your favourites and the counter of copied emojis. None of it leaves your device or is sent to the server. You can remove it via your browser's site data.
How often an emoji has been copied in total is additionally counted anonymously on the server – without IP address, identifier or session reference. That count feeds the ranking of the most popular emojis and does not allow conclusions about individuals.
📢 Advertising
This site is funded by adverts from Google AdSense (Google Ireland Limited, Gordon House, Barrow Street, Dublin 4, Ireland).
You decide about your consent in Google's own dialogue, shown on your first visit. It is a Google-certified consent platform. Personalised adverts – ones based on previously collected data – are only shown if you agreed there. If you decline, you only see non-personalised adverts based on the content of the page you are on.
To be plain about what that means: Google's advertising script is loaded together with the page, so that this dialogue can appear at all. Google therefore receives your IP address before your decision. Advertising cookies and personalisation only follow once you have agreed.
Once you have agreed, Google processes among other things:
- your IP address plus browser and device details,
- cookies and similar identifiers, to select adverts, cap how often they are shown and detect fraud,
- the page you are on, to show adverts that fit the topic.
Data is also transferred to the USA. Google LLC is certified under the EU-US Data Privacy Framework, supplemented by the European Commission's standard contractual clauses. Even so, a level of protection equivalent to the European one cannot be guaranteed in every case.
The legal basis is your consent under Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR and § 25(1) TDDDG. You may withdraw it at any time with effect for the future: a menu at the bottom edge of every advert leads to Google's privacy settings, where the choice can be changed. Centrally this is possible at myadcenter.google.com. This does not affect the lawfulness of processing carried out until then.
What Google does with the data is set out in its advertising policy and its privacy policy.
🌐 External services
This site's fonts and program libraries are served from this domain, not from external servers. The page itself therefore makes no connection to Google Fonts, to a content delivery network or to any other provider.
The only third-party service embedded is Google AdSense advertising, described in the section above. The adverts themselves run in their own frame and load resources from further Google addresses – something outside our control. Without your consent, no advertising cookies are set in the process.
⚖️ Your rights
You have the right to access, rectification, erasure, restriction of processing, data portability and objection (Art. 15–21 GDPR), and you may lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority. Please use the address given in the imprint.
